Every once in a while you run across a quote that just puts everything into perspective. Here's a combat vet, woman, with PTSD and MST, raped multiple times(!) in her deployment -- a form of hazing? A highly intelligent woman, coming to terms with what she's gone through, but it isn't easy, and it did involve unspeakable things. Here's how she describes it:
"I remember so many things I want to forget. I remember once upon a time I was a real person. Then I was a soldier. Now I am a ghost."
Editor's note: For more on military sexual trauma, also known as MST, which affects equal numbers of men and women, despite their disproportionate numbers serving, click here. For more on PTSD, read the rest of this site :-)
